One of the most important Minoan frescoes, found in Knossos, is that of the "Prince with the lilies", which is preserved very fragmentary and has been supplemented for the most part. The composition is colorful, full of vitality. In low relief, an imposing male figure is depicted, marching to the left on an undefined red background. He wears the typical Minoan girdle with a wide belt, a necklace on the neck and a rich headgear decorated with lilies and peacock feathers. The posture of his hands indicates that he was perhaps dragging with his left hand an animal or some mythical monster, Griffin or Sphinx. The young man was named by the researchers "Prince", because he was considered to be the King-priest, who lived in the Palace of Knossos. Only part of the upper part of the body, the legs and hands, the attire and the elaborate crown are preserved from its form, but the artist's effort for naturalistic rendering of the Myology and the details of the attire is distinguished in them.
