As the goddess with snakes is called the type of statuette found in excavations in Minoan archaeological sites that shows a woman standing on a balcony holding snakes. The statuettes date back to the 16th century Fr.Allah.. Little information we have about the interpretation of statuettes. Evans links the serpent goddess to the Egyptian goddess Wajette. It is a forerunner of Cretan Rhea and bears a great resemblance to the Phrygian Cybele and Ephesian Artemis.
